COVID-19 Vaccination Requirement
To ensure compliance with an applicable nationwide preliminary injunction, which may be supplemented, modified, or vacated, depending on the course of ongoing litigation, the Federal Government will take no action to implement or enforce the COVID-19 vaccination requirement pursuant to Executive Order 14043 on Requiring Coronavirus Disease 2019 Vaccination for Federal Employees. Therefore, to the extent a Federal job announcement includes the requirement that applicants must be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 pursuant to Executive Order 14043, that requirement does not currently apply. Federal agencies may request information regarding the vaccination status of selected applicants for the purposes of implementing other workplace safety protocols, such as protocols related to masking, physical distancing, testing, travel, and quarantine.

The U.S. Office of Government Ethics (OGE), established by the Ethics in Government Act of 1978, provides overall leadership and oversight of the executive branch ethics program, which is designed to prevent and resolve conflicts of interest. OGE’s mission is part of the very foundation of public service.
As this statutory language makes clear, the primary objective of the executive branch ethics program is one of prevention. Under OGE’s leadership, thousands of ethics officials in the more than 130 agencies across the executive branch are engaged in preventing ethical lapses and protecting the impartiality of government decision-making through the implementation and application of the ethics laws and rules. OGE uses oversight, rules, advice and counseling, financial disclosure, education, and transparency to enable federal employees at all stages of their service to preserve the public trust.
