New On-Demand Course: Avoiding Conflict of Interest and Appearance Concerns Arising from Spousal Employment

OGE’s Institute for Ethics in Government has published a course on avoiding conflict of interest and appearance concerns arising from spousal employment. Designed for new ethics officials, or as a refresher, this course provides an overview of common conflict of interest and impartiality considerations related to spousal employment and includes examples involving scenarios often encountered by ethics officials. It also discusses the amount of effort or due diligence an employee should exercise in determining whether their spouse’s employment creates potential conflicts or impartiality concerns.
