OGE created this resource (see document under the course materials) for ethics officials who counsel Special Government Employees (SGEs) or otherwise deal with the unique ethical issues posed by SGEs. It summarizes the ethics provisions that apply to two categories of SGEs in comparison to the provisions that apply to other executive branch employees (non-SGEs). The video above provides a helpful overview of SGEs and introduces two critical resources needed to manage SGEs, one of which is the resource on this course page and the other is OGE's Informal Advisory Memorandum 00 x 1.
