Integrity uses the MAX.gov authentication service so your agency doesn't have to manage user IDs and passwords.

To login, click on the "Login to Integrity (using MAX.gov)" action button.
On the next screen, choose the appropriate option:

1. Most filers enter your MAX.gov user ID and password. Note: If you have never logged in to MAX.gov, click on the "Forgot, set, or change your password?” link and follow the on-screen prompts to create a password on MAX.gov.  Watch your email for a password reset link from MAX Support.

2. Login with PIV/CAC (left side) or check the check box to “Use MAX Secure+ (Authenticator App) (right side) and enter your ID and password.  Contact your agency Integrity administrator if you need assistance.   Secure login instructions can be found here: Integrity User Resources. Most agencies require reviewers to access Integrity using a more secure login method.

3. If your agency is listed as a "MAX Agency Federated Partner," login by clicking on the icon button for your agency. MAX will route you through your agency authenticator. If you are already logged in at your agency, you will be connected directly to Integrity without further prompt. Consider checking the "Use this Agency Login every time I log into MAX." If you exclusively use this feature for login, you no longer need to periodically update your MAX password.

Troubleshooting login:

1.  If you receive a message that your login is incorrect:

a.  Are you registered as an Integrity user? Check with your agency Integrity administrator or ethics official.

b. Never logged in to MAX.gov? Activate the MAX.gov account when starting to login to Integrity. Here is how:  Click "Login to Integrity" on the landing page, https://integrity.gov, to open the ID/password dialog box. Above the password field, click on the "Forgot, set, or change your password?" link.  This will open a dialog box where you enter your email address to receive MAX.gov account activation instructions and to create a password that you will use to access Integrity.

c.  Contact MAX Support for assistance.  MAXSupport: 202.395.6860, maxsupport@max.gov.

2. If you receive an “Access denied” message: Are you registered as an Integrity user with the email address you are using for login? Check with your agency administrator or ethics official.

3. If you receive an "Internal system error occurred . . ." message on login, please try this:  Go to https://max.gov and login with your normal credentials first.  Open another browser tab or window and click on this link to Integrity, https://integrity.gov, and click Login to Integrity. You should pass right through if you are registered in Integrity.

4. If Integrity doesn’t appear to load completely:

a.  What Internet browser are you using? You must use Google Chrome 72 or greater, Microsoft Edge 79 or greater, Firefox 44 or greater, or Safari 11 or greater.

b.  Try the appropriate link below:

-Filers:  https://www.integrity.gov/efeds-forms-harness/ui/wizard.html#/dashboard/mytasks

-Other registered users:  https://www.integrity.gov/efeds-forms-harness/ui/reviewer.html#/dashboard/myqueue

c.  Clear your cache. Your Internet browser's cache stores various information from web pages you visit. Occasionally, the cache can prevent you from seeing updated content or cause functional problems. You can fix many browser problems by simply clearing your cache. To clear your browser's cache (temporary internet files), visit https://www.wikihow.com/Clear-Your-Browser%27s-Cache

d.  Close your Internet browser window(s) completely and, then in a new browser window go to https://integrity.gov, and click "Login to Integrity."

5. If you see an “Access Denied – More Secure Login Method Required” message, then you have a role that your agency requires a more secure login method than what you used.  Contact your agency Integrity administrator or try login method 2 (Login with PIV/CAC (left side) or check the check box to “Use MAX Secure+ (Authenticator App)” (right side)) (detailed at the top of this page).

Note:  Follow these instructions to associate/register your PIV/CAC card with your MAX User ID.

  • Close out of your Internet browser window.
  • Insert your PIV/CAC card in its reader.
  • Open your internet browser and go to https://piv.max.gov/maxpivreg
  • Enter your MAX ID (email address) then click “Send Validation Code”. *Depending on your firewall/network it may take 15-20 minutes to receive this email.
  • You will be sent a token number to enter in the next screen.
  • Type the PIV certificate validation code from the bottom of the PIV Certificate Registration email into the space beneath your MAX ID. Then click the “Submit” button.

Contact MAX Support for login assistance.  Mention login to Integrity. MAXSupport: 202.395.6860, maxsupport@max.gov.

Ask your IT Help Desk what browser you are using or check for yourself at http://www.whatsmybrowser.org/.  Include that information when seeking assistance.
